The immediate effects of the dangers posed by Munitions in the Sea are impressively visible during blasting. However, for the marine ecosystem, the gradual medium and long-term effects are likely to be much more dangerous. A larger number of individual aspects must be brought together for a comprehensive consideration. Apparently, the hydrographic parameters of the polluted sea area and the properties of the munitions stored there are risk factors. However, the abundance and dominance of protected species and habitats as well as the type and intensity of human use of the sea must also be taken into account.
