There are many requirements for competent monitoring of marine areas contaminated by munitions. The JPI-O KH refers to suitable methods, gives examples and references. Monitoring should always pursue two objectives:
- Monitoring the polluted area and
- expanding the knowledge base on the effects of chemical compounds in the sea by providing own results in a larger context.
