Competent risk management of all hazards posed by munitions in the ocean would also consider seafood. It is true that shellfish for human consumption in particular are being extensively studied. However, it is also true that none of the target substances are associated with the sometimes significant contamination of marine areas by munitions. The JPI-Ocean Knowledge Hub aims to initiate further interdisciplinary collaboration in this area.
